The person who created my website left long back. I do not have any expertise or any webmaster for my small website. It appaers that Paypal has recently made some changes and now the payment on my website is not in compliance with the recent changes. I have been reading but could not understand what to change due to lack of knowledge with the coding.

If somebody can please look at my website and direct me what and where to make the changes, I would greatly appreciate. My small business website is not able to accept payments starting today.

I would suspect its related to the length of the item_name value. Looks to be over the allowable 64 characters.

The item_name is 80 characters and can be up to 127 characters https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/paypal-payments-standard/integration-guide/Appx_websitesta...

I was able to fix the problem by changing the "business" variable from the email address to the "Merchant ID". I'm not sure why the email address stopped working.

It turns out their was some change in the accepted email address. Now either the primary email address or the merchant ID is accepted. Before it could be either the Merchant ID or any verified address associated with the PayPal account. The documenation says:

Your PayPal ID or an email address associated with your PayPal account. Email addresses must be confirmed.

This should be updated to the following:

Your PayPal ID or the primary email address associated with your PayPal account. Email addresses must be confirmed.

We stopped support unknown or invalid parameters and values being passed to us in HTML code, we had a comms drive out to merchants over the past 4 months on this....

Checking your website I can see that its an amount based error, and looking at the data being passed I can see a $ symbol in the amount i.e:

amount_1 = $8.99

The $ symbol is causing the error.
