As long as you don't use pay after delivery then just buy the item and paypal should automatically take from your balance first and the rest from your linked funding souce.
HOWEVER if you are not buying an item in dollars as you have a UK paypal account then it would take from your funding source in pounds.

Thanks, Kemowlass. "Just buy item", I did last month, and Paypal did NOT use balance I had then. Today, hopefully, did same with another ebay item, "just buy" and paid full amount for ebay item. And there was no credit indicated on latest bank statement. Paypal still has my $2.98 methinks. What am forgetting to do?
