Using Paypal Family and Friends???

HI,

I am purchasing at item of furniture from a private seller (not on ebay or any other site) and they have requested me to pay by paypal friends and family.  If when the item of furniture is delivered it is not as it said or if the item wasn't delivered at all could I claim for this ????

Hi, “gift” or “personal” payments are intended as transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.

On the other hand, as it is a “personal” payment, there is also no Buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

Your seller is trying to evade paying his paypal seller fees AND negating your buyer protection at the same time.
