PayPal Credit late payment

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me.

As soon as I set up my PayPal credit (for a one off purchase - interest free as long as 12 monthly payments met) I also set up through PayPal a direct debit for the monthly payments to come straight from my bank account. That direct debit shows on my PayPal credit accounts page along with the correct bank details and that it would be taken on 3/2/15.

However PayPal did not debit this payment from my account on 3/2/15 (despite ample funds!), I only realised when I checked my account today (again direct debit still correct and showing for 3/2/15) and saw that I have a late payment fee and no payment has been made to my account.

I have tried calling customer services, spent an age going round the various automated options and after continually being directed back to the main menu I gave up.

I also tried emailing customer services through the contact us page but this was returned to me.

I'm at a loss. I have a late payment fee that doesn't seem fair. A direct debit that I set up through PayPal that PayPal aren't using. And I'm now worried I have lost my interest free period when I don't see how I'm at fault.

I wish I had know this was going to cause so much trouble - I would have just set an alarm on my phone and transfered the funds myself each month.

Can anyone shed some light here? Or a route of actually speaking with someone to resolve this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Abby

Hi Abby,

Welcome to our Community!

In this situation, it would probably be best to reach out to our Credit Specialist directly on 08003687155.

This is a direct number and during a quick call, my colleagues will be able to pull up the details of your PayPal credit account and get to the bottom of what has happened here.

Would you consider giving this a go for me?

Conor
