I use paypal to buy for my business. So my items should be tax exempt. I have a retail tax id, but can not find where to enter it.
I guess my question is does paypal use our retail sales tax permit?

No, there's no spot to enter that on PayPal. You'll have to provide that to the businesses you buy from if your purchases are sales tax exempt. But isn't the "retail sales tax permit" for obligating you to charge your customers sales tax? Not for exempting yourself from being charged sales tax on your purchases? The only time when you are definitely exempt from sales tax is buying stock for resale. If you're buying office products and supplies to operate your business, that is not exempt.

Thanks Sharpie, I will try contact my suppliers.
I make my products, and charge tax when I sell the product.
So otherwise I will be double taxed. Right now I will have to go
through each product that I buy, and give the sales tax as another step
to my accountant. So it all works out in the end.
Again thank you for your response.
