Using Gift Cards on a WooCommerce Website - Sale Tax is incorrect

I am using a gift card app that works with my WooCommerce website. When a customer goes to use it, the sales tax is only being calculated on the balance left in the shopping cart, not on the entire thing, before using a gift card. How do I fix that.
