How do I download all my customer email addresses?

My hope is that I can send out an newsletter, offers etc to my customers, but don't want to manually type in all my customer email addresses. Is there are way of downloading all emails addresses at once? All the answers I've seen haven't really answered the question.

Also with the new data protection, am I actually able to use the email addresses at all?!?!

I really think that due to data protection that would not be allowed and also may be seen by some buyers as spamming them.

Thank you. I had a feeling this would be the case. I'd still like to know if it's possible to bulk download all my customers emails addresses though!
