Cannot enter recipient (saved in address book) into recipient line in invoice

I cannot enter a recipient who is in my address book (or any recipient) into the to: line on my invoice. I have logged out, logged back in, several times, restarted my computer. Super frustrated that there seems to be a glitch?!? Anyone else have a quick solution?
