Hi!

Please tell me if this is ok according to your guidelines. I'd like to:

1) Login to my own PayPal account

2) Transfer money using friends & family option to my church's PayPal email that they will provide me

So I'm *not* using a button on the church's website - doing a transfer behind the scenes using their email address.

Donation so I don't need any purchase protection.

Is this ok? I don't want to do anything that goes against the terms of the account.

Thanks!

Hi @LS-2019,

Thank you for asking! Donations are typically sent as a type of Goods and Services payment, but charities can apply for a lower rate. The charity should visit that site and set up the ability to accept funds with the lower rate rather than accepting friends and family payments.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, Olivia. They are super tiny though so going through any rigamaroll isn't going to happen lol. I realize that they should apply for the lower rate etc but does it go against the guidelines to do it the way I've asked?

Hi @LS-2019,

It's always best to send a payment the appropriate way. Sending or receiving Friends and Family payments where a Goods and Services payment is indicated can be considered fee avoidance, which is against the rules.

I hope this helps!

Hi @Hootsumdaddy,

Thank you for joining the Q&A! I'm afraid I don't understand the question. Can you elaborate a little?

Thanks!

Could we get a proper explanation on the Policy Updates occurring to personal accounts on March 29?

  • What is a Paypal Cash account?
  • What is a Paypal Cash Plus account?
  • What do personal Paypal account holders have to do in preparation for March 29?
  • What will happen to accounts that have not been verified yet? On that note, what is verification?

Hi @azekthi,

Thanks for stopping by our Q&A today. You can find answers to all of those questions here. Once you go to that link, click on "PayPal Cash and PayPal Cash Plus Terms and Conditions" which should break down any other questions regarding this feature you may have. I hope this helps!
