Hey everybody!

 

Join the PayPal Community Forums moderation team in our semi-weekly Community Chat on Wednesday, May 30th, from 1-2 pm PT (4-5 pm ET).

 

Our moderator staff will be here to answer your questions regarding PayPal. This thread will remain locked until the chat is open, so if you have a question you'd like to see answered by the community before then, please feel free to post a topic by clicking on "Post a Topic" and selecting the appropriate board.  As always, PayPal customer service can be reached by clicking on "Contact Us" and selecting help via phone or email.

 

How Community Chat works:

 

The chat opens at 1 pm PT. Once the chat is open, PayPal Community members may participate and ask questions by using the "Reply to topic" button.

 

In order to post in the chat, you must be a PayPal Community member. If you'd like email updates on the chat, click the "Options" menu and select Subscribe. Smiley Happy 

 

During the chat, PayPal Moderators will answer general PayPal questions in real-time. 

 

At 2 pm PT, the chat will close and lock. Any questions that have not yet been responded to by a moderator or employee will receive a response within the following hour.

Thank you for the clarification!

 

Payments with delayed funds availability are released once three days have elapsed following the date of delivery. What date does the tracking show the item was delivered?

Hi. I'm from India and I want to receive money from my friend who is in another country but it says this recipient accepts PayPal payments only through their website. To complete this payment, please go to their website and follow their instructions. But I unchecked that payments from website already so I'm really confused what is the real problem. I tried requesting money. It said There's a problem with your account. Please visit our Help Centre so we can help you resolve this quickly.

Hi @Ravikiran12!

 

Oh no! Is your friend possibly in another country than India, and trying to send you a personal payment instead of a payment of goods and services? I sincerely apologize, but we are not able to provide India the option to receive or send personal payments.

 

Other possibilities is if you have recently changed the email address on the account or if there is a current limitation. When you log into PayPal, do you have any notifications in the Resolution Center? If so, you will need to give us a call or you are more than welcome to contact us on Facebook or Twitter. Our specialists will be happy to help find the reason you are unable to receive payments.

If I buy a item on facebook messenger and pay with my paypal account, is my transaction covered by buyer protection if the seller does not ship?

Thank you for your post. That's a great question!

 

If there is purchase protection eligibility for any payment made through PayPal, there will be messaging in the transaction that states it. My understanding is that payments made on Facebook go through the Facebook billing agreement and do not offer protection. As the chat is about to draw to a close, I will be happy to do a bit more research and get back to you. I will post an update here when I have more information.

Hi @Vandy16,

 

I did a bit more research. There are a couple of ways that a payment might be set up through Facebook. If the payment is a person to person payment that works by using the payment method that you already set up for your Facebook billing agreement, there would not be purchase protection. If the payment is a goods and/or services payment, there will be a message that the transaction is covered by the purchase protection policy (with a link to more information on the PayPal site) and the invoice will direct you through a checkout flow that prompts you to select your payment method from among the ones you have listed on your PayPal account.
