Hey everybody!

 

Join the PayPal Community Forums moderation team in our semi-weekly Community Chat on Friday, July 27th, from 4-5pm GMT.

 

Our moderator staff will be here to answer your questions regarding PayPal. This thread will remain locked until the chat is open, so if you have a question you'd like to see answered by the community before then, please feel free to post a topic by clicking on "Post a Topic" and selecting the appropriate board.  As always, PayPal customer service can be reached by clicking on "Contact Us" and selecting help via phone or email.

 

How Community Chat works:

 

The chat opens at 4pm GMT. Once the chat is open, PayPal Community members may participate and ask questions by using the "Reply to topic" button.

 

In order to post in the chat, you must be a PayPal Community member. If you'd like email updates on the chat, click the "Options" menu and select Subscribe. Smiley Happy 

 

During the chat, PayPal Moderators will answer general PayPal questions in real-time. 

 

At 5pm GMT, the chat will close and lock. Any questions that have not yet been responded to by a moderator or employee will receive a response within the following hour.

Hello sir, I sell social media services. I do sell twitter and instagram accounts and ads and impressions on my pages. Today my account got imited and paypal is asking for my business details such as business name but i don't have business, i myself grow social media accounts and sell them to my clients. Also paypal is asking for shipment info and invoice info for my last few transaction which I do not know because as I said I sell social media services so I don't have such info. Please guide me to lift these limitations from my account. I'm able to provide other needed information to paypal except these.

Hello! Nearly a month ago, i got an email from PayPal, letting me know that further information about me is required and unless i provide it, my account will be limited when i reach a 1800 EUR in total payments. I provided the information, however my proof of address was deemed invalid and I had no other way to send in a valid one.

 

After my account eventually got locked (and after I sent 2 emails to the community email and did not get a response), I contacted the Twitter support account and eventually got told to submit my documents here: paypal.com/executiveescalations .


On the 12th of July I submitted a city-issued Proof of Address letter and have gotten no response ever since. I messaged the Twitter support account again and they said they will be escalating this to one of their specialists. That was on the 20th of July. On the 25th I sent another message, asking if there is any information about my case, but there has been no reply yet. I decided to submit another picture of the Proof of Address today, which included my case # this time. 

 

What should i do?

Unfortunately, we cannot take direct action on an account through contacts on this platform. I would advise you to either call our Customer Support or send an email through the secure Message Centre on your account. You will find details for both in the Help and Contact section of your account.

In such cases, we place limitations on account to find out more information about your business and the account activity. In your situation, I would respond by completing all the steps you can in the Resolution Centre and sending a detailed summary of your business model through the secure Message Centre on the account. In the summary, you can explain why you cannot provide the requested information.  I would also advise you to confirm with Social Media account providers that it is permitted to sell accounts or find out if you need to follow specific guidelines in selling accounts.

I was charged for shipping twice, and your phone support keeps hanging up on me no joke. Lol anyways at first I thought I was overcharged and then I looked in PayPal and shipping was there twice. That’s it!

As I wouldn't be able to discuss anything specific regarding your account over a public forum, it would be best to contact us by email through Message Centre on your account. In the email request please detail both transaction IDs and clearly explain that it is a duplicate payment.  You could also contact us over Facebook or Twitter so that we can look into the issue.

Hello,

I've tried to top up some money to my PayPal account using my debit card, but it didn't work. I wanted to reduce the negative balance on my PayPal account. Then I tried it again but still it didn't work. But I've just checked the available balance on my bank account and it seems money was taken although it didn't arrive on my PayPal account. I've tried to contact you several times by calling, sending messages on my account, sending messages on Facebook, but I've never received any answer. I just want that money back and be able to top up my PayPal account and resolve that whole issue about the negative balance and the other accounts. All I want is one account without a negative balance, so why do you make it so difficult for me to resolve that?

As I wouldn't be able to discuss anything specific on this platform. Can I ask you if the recent payment was using your debit card? If so it could be an attempt to gather authorisation from the card blocked the amount requested. This should normally either clear to PayPal on the same day or release back to your account. You mentioned you have issues on other accounts, it would be best to call again so all the issues are consolidated into one escalation.

I will be creating a blog on Wordpress to chart my fundraising campaign. Is it OK to post my paypal.me link there (since this is one of the ways I receive sponsorship)? The audience would be friends and family.
