Unable to verify bank account on 1 account due to name discrepancy/not receiving deposits on another

Paypal Account 1:  the account is being used for my website which means that I am leery of people seeing anything but a professional name.  This name is NOT the name of the bank account I have (obviously) and I need to know if I am going to have problems verifying.  The name on the Paypal is my names, yes, but with www and DotCom to follow.  My bank account of course doesn't include the internet bits and has a surname not listed in my Paypal account.

I have been asking for assistance from Paypal for this issue for some months now and keep getting the automated message that someone will get back to me and then nothing.

What do I do?  I would like to be able to transfer my money from my Paypal to my bank account, otherwise the facility becomes pointless.

Paypal Account 2:  the account is my eBay one and works fine for transferring money to/from (to a second bank account, not the same as used for Account 1 above) but when it comes to verifying it in order to lift the limits I am informed that the two small deposits Paypal make in order to verify "bounce".

I have used the contact form to tell them that there has to be a mistake (since the link IS there, present and correct, as I am able to transfer money in and out with great ease) and got more automated responses and today, finally, a message to check my bank details and re-enter them if incorrect.  Completely ignoring my very brief and succinct query.  But- because of this I tested it yet again and transferred a sum into my bank account within minutes just to check that I was not going crazy.  And I am not.  Yet...  😛

Anyone experience this Paypal-originating "impasse"?  Anyone know how to resolve it?

Hey there CuriousB,

On your PayPal account you do need to have your full name registered. Even if you have business account and a business name registered you should still have your name added as a contact name. So this name will then match with what your bank have for you.

If you don't have your full name registered I would advised requesting a name change on the account to add in your full name as it appeals on your legal documents (driving licence/passport).

Here are the steps for requesting the name change:

1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk/namechange (and log in to your account if prompted).
2. Select the type of change you would like to make and click ‘Continue.’
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Depending on the type of change you want to make, you may need to provide some or all of the following documents by uploading or faxing them to us. Please note: we don’t accept files that are sent as email attachments. If you email us attachments, we'll still require you to upload or fax your documents.

• A copy of a valid photo identification showing your new name (a driver's license, a passport, or any other government-issued photo identification).
• A copy of a court-issued document showing your new name (for example, a marriage certificate or marriage license, a divorce decree, or a deed poll).
• A copy of a recent statement for the bank account, credit card, or debit card that is listed on your PayPal account, or a recent utility bill, showing your new name and address exactly as they should appear on your PayPal account.
• An email (from the primary email address you've registered with us) clearly stating that you would like to change the name on your account.

Here’s how you upload your documents:

1. Click 'Upload Files.'
2. Browse for the file(s) you want to upload and click ‘Attach this File.’
3. Click ‘Send Files to PayPal.’

Here’s how you fax your documents:

1. Click, ‘Continue to Fax Cover Sheet.’
2. Enter your name, a brief description of your request, and how many pages you are faxing (include the cover sheet as a page).
3. Click ‘Print Page.’
4. Fax the documents to 08707 303 198.

In relation to your second bank account, you can withdraw to your bank account before it’s confirmed. You just can’t send money from the bank account to PayPal or on to any other sellers.

If you aren’t getting the code you may need to remove and then re-add the bank account to your PayPal account.

Let me know how you get on.

Paypal Account 1:  Perhaps I didn't make myself clear- this is not about the "contact name".  This is about the "Business Name" which appears on the form relating to withdrawing Paypal balances to a bank account.  I asked what needed to happen to enable me to proceed with setting up the bank account with the Paypal account so that the name difference between the Paypal "Business Name" and the personal name (which is also the contact name on record at Paypal, of course) of the bank account were not going to be a problem.  I ask this because the form is very specific in naming the Business Name as needing to tally.

In short:  What is the way forward since the Business Name (not the contact name) is not the same (and cannot be the same) as the name of the (personal) bank account being transferred to?

Paypal Account 2:  I am able to withdraw money from my Paypal to my bank account.  It works fine.  Ergo- the details for the bank account are correct (else it could not work).

Paypal is not able to put their two payments into that same account.  Ergo the issue is at Paypal's end, not at my end (because the details are correct and work for bank transfers).

In conclusion- why would I need to remove and re-add my correct and working-just-fine bank details?

I'm having the same problem in your #1. For now. I tried renaming my PayPal account same as with my bank card. But it doesn't change right away I guess it took a few days or once it was reviewed and verified by their support specialist. Have you resolved your problem by the way? 6/12/17
