closing my son's paypal account

My son died on 12th May 2016. He has a Paypal account but I don't have any details for it though it's possible he still had some money in it.

Unfortunately he didn't make a will so although I have found the info on how to let PayPal know to close his account, I don't have a copy of a will to send them. I have spoken to a solicitor and I am his next of kin and therefore am entitled to deal with his estate but I have nothing to prove this.

Will all the other IDs and info be sufficient to close his account? I am also a PayPal account holder - will this help?

Thanks for any help with this,

Jane

How sad. Sorry for your loss.

However the only people that can help you are customer services.

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".
