bank account approval

Hi  I have been using my bank account for years with paypal and suddenly last month paypal started using my backup account (which is my sons so he is not impressed).  In the wallet it says my account needs approval so i press it and set up the direct debit it says its confirmed I go into another screen and it needs approval again.   I am losing patience with it, how do I set up the approval?  Any advice would be welcome - thanks

Sounds odd, have you had a failed transaction from your bank account OR a negative balance OR accidentally cancelled the direct debit on your online banking at all??
