I can't remove my old debit card

My old debit card had to be destroyed when my bank account was hacked six months ago. It asks me for the security code to confirm the card, but I can't remember that as I destroyed everything along with the old card.

I have tried to email PayPal, but when I pressed 'send'notice comes up to say that there's a problem and my message couldn't be sent.

What do and do next? Help please anyone?

Why not just add a new card??

I did add   a new card, must I just assume Paypal will see that as the primary debit card?

When you add a new card there should be an option to make that one your ''primary one''.

How do I designate a primary credit or debit card?

Here’s how to select your primary card:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
3. Click My money.
4. Click Update beside Credit and debit cards.
5. Click Edit next to the card you want to make your primary card.
6. Select Make primary card under Edit credit card information.

Thanks so much for the list.  Is 'wallet' the same as 'my money'?

Sorry to sound so obtuse, but there appears to be nothing resembling 'my money' anywhere in my profile, nor are there any primary card options in 'my wallet'

At the moment, I can't find an option to make the new card my primary card.

As soon as I try to make a purchase, having logged into Paypal, it directs me to a message telling me to update my old card.  I can't do that as  I can't remeber the security code on the old card.  And there I am stuck.

It's also asking for a security code which appears on my statement, but I can't find that either,

If you have added but not confirmed your new card then it won't let you make it primary.

The code should be sent to your card statement in 2-3 working days.

Thanks for all your help.  I'll wait for my code to arrive before I can go any further.  That should have been made clear at the time they asked for it
