Confirming bank acount

I've been attempting to add my bank account details for the last two weeks (nothing special, main high street bank in UK). I enter the sort code (recognises the Bank), then account number and get the following message: -
The PayPal server is currently experiencing some difficulties. Please try again later or contactCustomer Service.
Done everything but doesn`t work have sent numerous emails no response to rectify but this appears to be the norm??????? or does anyone know how to resolve

Try clearing your cookies / history and cache and then re-boot and try again or try another browser.
