Can't Change Debit Card?

Hello,
I have recently had problems changing what my default debit card is. I recently removed my old expired card from my PayPal account, and it still wants to use it! When I click the change button, it says something like "You must log in". I do. Then, it just comes up with a thing saying "We are not able to process your payment using your PayPal account at this time. Please return to the merchant's website and try using a different payment method (if available)." Why can't I change my card?

Welcome to our Community 🙂
This is a strange one. In my experience though, our system will not let you remove an old card if it is marked as primary.
Could you try adding your new card first for me within the 'Wallet' tab of your account. Then, if you mark the new card as primary, I'm hoping you'll be able to remove the unwanted card.
Why don't you give that a go and let me know how you get on?

It happens. Hit the "Login to Ask the community" button to create a question for the PayPal community.
