No code shows up on Amex statement

I'm trying to confirm my Amex card but ther is no PayPal code on the Amex statement it just says 'Paypal' with no ode following. Any ideas out there?

To the best of my knowledge PayPal does not require or allow credit/debit cards to be confirmed on your account. You are able to use all features of adding a debit/credit card without confirming the card with PayPal. You _are_ able to confirm a bank however.
