About to hit initial sending limit?

I'm a premier member and I've never had a problem with PayPal or eBay before, but I just got a message saying that I'm almost at my sending limit of $5,000. It seems that the only way to lift this limit is to add my bank account to become verified, but I don't feel comfortable doing this at all. I am very happy using my credit card as my default payment, especially since my balance is usually at $0 and the charges just go straight to the card. I do not want the charges to go to the bank account in any case, and I realize there is an option every separate time you purchase to chose secondary forms of payment that would allow me to use credit, but I don't want to. Please, if there is another way to lift this limit, I would love to know. I don't mind verifying my identity in another way. Thank you.

I would like to know the answer to why we need to be verified.  I have been buying and selling on Ebay for 8 years and have never had any problems.   People bid on  my auctions and see my 100% feedback and are very secure with bidding on  my items.   Never once have I had a bidder ask me to be verified.  Now I can not use my own money to buy on ebay because I have hit some arbitrary limit.  What is going on?  Can you please give me a good reason why my credit card that ebay accepts is not good enough for Paypal.   I would like a logical reason other than the general statement that Paypal is trying to make everything more secure for everyone.   All i ever see is this statement and then the directions for verifying your account.  Why is this?
