Just received a text message from *********** telling me to use link ******* to stop me account being suspended. Message started with Dear Customer..' I logged into my account (not using the link) and everything looks fine. I'm suspicious but wondering if I'm right? What do you think?

Hi YM6,

Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting.

Any time you receive an email or a text about activity on your PayPal account, the safest way to confirm the emails’ validity is to log in to your PayPal account via the PayPal website (not using the links in the email received). Any of the activity reported in the email will be available to view. Our emails: and texts never use a generic greeting like "Dear user" or "Hello, PayPal member". We always address you by your first name and last name or the business name on your PayPal account.

If you receive a text message that you believe is not from PayPal, forward the message to 62226 and insert the word spoof in the beginning of the message. Please forward any suspicious emails or websites to spoof@paypal.co.uk
