Spam text message from Paypal saying my account has been blocked

Hello all

Just want to draw your attention that this morning I received a text message on my Android phone saying "Your account has been locked due to security reasons. To unlock it review your account here: http://bit.do/PaypalL1", the sender was automatically labelled as "Paypal" on my phone and when I tried to ring it showed a number 729725 which I did not call for obvious reasons, I pressed cancel immediately. Just to say that my phone operates in the UK so this strange message may be sent to other UK-based Paypal users.

I received this today.  http://www,paypal-id444,com/?786323,  WARNING DO NOT TRUST THIS TEXT or anything similar.  Go to direct website via Google search engine and not the link as it will take you to a copied PayPal screen.

I got a text today with similar warning about my account being blocked. The link was http://bit.do/PayPalverify

sent from this phone number: +306906990100.

I ignored it and checked my account on my computer instead.

Not a very nice feeling, knowing someone can get my mobile number and do that.
