Upon emailing him for a collection, he sent me this email:

Hello i am <removed> from United State Of America,   how are
you today and how are your families ? hope all is good ? well i am
interested in buying the item for my daughter in THAILAND, because it
my daughter that need it  and i hope she would like it , so kindly get
to me with the total cost of the item including the shipping cost to
her address below with post office, i pay through either Paypal or
Bank transfer ok reply soon.

Highly doubt someone with such a typical posh name from USA would have such poorly written English. Googled it then found a similar issue reported on  this site.
Beware everyone! Anyone knows how to arrest such scammers like this? Tracing back the IP address of the email address or skype username might work.

got the same scam sms after posting my ad in Gumtree

didn't even bother replying.  I usually get this type of sms when I start selling something on Gumtree.

I got the same scam buyer! Just that this time his name is <removed> & his daughter's name is <removed>, in Bangkok too. I am not as smart as Ichy_Michy, I sent my item to his 'daughter' in Bangkok and waits for his payment via bank transfer which he uses Citibank. Got a email from 'Citibank USA', which now I see more carefully, looks not original at all! It say that as this is my 1st time receiving $ fm USA hence I need to 'activate' my a/c and it cost S$650 to activate which they deducted fm the buyer's a/c so I have to 'refund' back to him then I will get back this activation fee n my payment. I straight away tell the buyer tt I hv nvr heard of this bank procedure and it's silly tt I hv to use my own money then hv it back later. So I tell him to keep his $$ and I shall remember this lesson! I hope this scammer gets caught soon or gets scammed back and I will surely report this to Citibank too. Hopefully, I'm the last one to fall for this!

This guy is a real scammer. 
I was headed to bangkok and asked if he wanted me to hand deliver to the address. He said he preferred shipping, which is very odd since that would save him costs of shipping, insurance etc.

Hi I was just scammed by the same person: Petercle2004 at gmail dot com all details the same.  I sent parcel to Roslin Clement same address

Has anyone sent goods to Roslin Clement?

I did (not much value) I am wondering if they will come back do you need id to collect registered mail in Thailand?

He also asked for funds to go to

Thank you for your posts on this scammer. Yesterday (31st Jan 2015), I got this same exact message for an item posted on gumtree:

"<removed>: hi, i want to know if this item on Gumtree is still available for sale...reply to <removed> only".

I will not even reply to this email. Thanks for your help!
