Possible Scam phone calls from paypal

I have just received a call for my business partner on my mobile claiming that they were from Paypal.  Unfortunately or fortunately I ended the call because my partner was not here but she said she would phone back.  Just a little concerned really as paypal have never contacted us in this manner before.

Does Paypal contact sellers by phone, should I give any personal information if asked for it, I have received no email from paypal telling me of any problems with my account and all is fine when I log in.  Why would paypal be contacting me?

Just some advice please, I am new to all this computer stuff.

There are certain circumstances where we may reach out to customers by phone. 

In this instance I would advise that you call us and we can look into your account to see if a call was made, in general we will only ever ask for your name and email address etc. 

We would never ask for your full financial details, password or security questions.
