The email address that you have received a number of emails recently from is a genuine PayPal email address. If you are unsure if the email was sent by PayPal or not, the best thing for you to do is go directly to the PayPal website and access your account directly.
How to ensure that emails are really from PayPal:
• Check the greeting. We always address you by your first and last name, or the business name on your PayPal account
• See if the email asks for personal information. A PayPal email will never ask you for any of the following:
• Bank account numbers
• Debit and credit card numbers
• Driver's license number
• Email addresses
• Your full name
• Your password, or answers to your PayPal account security questions
Check for attachments. We will never send an attachment or software updates to install on your computer.
I hope this information helps.

<firstname.lastname@example.org>, i got notification from this email after my buyer claim he already make payment via paypal. FYI, this is my first time using paypal.so i want to confirm with you is it this email really come from paypal?i from malaysia and my buyer from UK. he used asped exress and want me pay the shipping payment to asped express via western union. then after that he will ask his agent to collect the merchandise from me.and FYI, there is no any notification in my paypal account whether i got payment and hold by paypal or not..

The email address that you have provided is not a valid PayPal email address. If you do not see evidence of the payment being received in your PayPal account and you have been asked to ship the item or send money using Western Union, I would be sure the email was not sent by PayPal.
The best thing to do is forward the entire email to us at email@example.com and we can investigate it further for you. You may also wish to contact this person and advise them that you are not sending the item until you have received a payment in to your PayPal account. Or you may wish to simply stop communicating with them and to try sell the item again.
I hope this information helps ,

A buyer from Nigeria won the bid on a computer that I posted on eBay.
The buyer assures he payed and the money was deducted from his PayPal account and now he is demanding me to ship the computer and send him the shipping number. However, I haven't seen ANY kind of evidence in my paypal account. I DO NOT have any money on hold, or anything.
I got an email from paypal saying that the payment from the buyer was APPROVED but I still DO NOT see any proof on my paypal account.
Should I ship the computer? What should I answer him? PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

No- do not ship the item!
This email is not from PayPal and this is not a genuine buyer, if you were paid for an item you would see the funds sitting in your PayPal balance.
Please forward all suspicious emails to firstname.lastname@example.org. Here is some additional information on our seller protection policy- https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/paypal-safet

This is a replay to someone named Simon's (who seems to work for PayPal) reply to a question about intl.paypal.com. I have seen this address on receipt emails from PayPal a number of times now. I have always received the merchandise and no further charges however SOME of my more recent transactions that resulted in a receipt from 'intl.paypal.com' do not appear in my transaction history. Some do and some don't. All but one of these transaction was initated and carried out in the usual way through eBay and then on to Paypal and sometimes to Bill Me Later (if that was my funding source and they all ultimately show up on my BML balance. My questions are: Is this a legitimate paypal.com address?, Why are some of my transactions gone from my history? I need to open a dipute on an item now and it has disappeared from my history so I can't get the transaction ID. Pleae help, Thank you

Hi there KeithGravlin,
To be honest, the email address of email@example.com is a genuine email address. I am not sure exactly why the payments are no longer showing on the History page of your PayPal account. Do you know if when you were making the payment in question if you logged in to your PayPal account or is it possible that you may have entered your information on screen on the PayPal website? For example, if you entered your email address, card number, home address and other details in regards to the payment, this would process a payment through PayPal but it would not show up on your account.
My best advice for you would be to try contacting customer services directly and we can try to locate the payment that you sent through the PayPal system. Depending on where you are purchasing the item from, the payment notification email address may change. You may see the above email address or you could see firstname.lastname@example.org when you are receiving a payment confirmation email from PayPal.
I hope this information helps,
