I utilize pay after delivery quite often. It assures I get the item bought/ordered. Recently the items I have ordered have either taken a long time to ship or I haven't received them. Pay after delivery assures that I am not out the money if I don't get the item. Now I have been contacted basically saying I better watch it or my account may be suspended. Isn't that the purpose of pay after delivery? What good is this option if you aren't able to dispute either a lengthier shipping time than promised or non receipt of an item?

PAD gives you NO MORE buyer protection than paying any other way.
When you pay a seller paypal CREDITS the seller and then paypal takes the wait for your funds to transfer from your funding source. When you use PAD all it does is give you a bit longer before they take that money.
But your seller has no idea if you use PAD or not as they have already been paid, no seller would send an item unless they were paid first.
You are covered by buyer protection even if your seller has been paid and transfered their money to their bank account > because if you file a dispute for non receipt etc then if the seller doesn't refund paypal will and then paypal will chase the seller to reimburse paypal.
But if you KEEP filing disputes then you may have buyer protection withdrawn. In over 15 years on paypal I have only had 4 disputes so not sure why you are having so many.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks for that explanation. I guess I did not realize all of that. I was using it more to assure getting my goods in a timely fashion. Did not know I was still covered without that little perk!
Thanks for the response and I will surely adjust the way I use PAD!

I don't bother with it, as i said it gives you no more buyer protection with paypal BUT i do back my payments with a credit card that does give you a little extra protection.

It does not matter whether it is PAD or Paypal fund or credit card or bank fund,it is like your homeowner or auto policy, too many claims ,they cancel your account,
they dont want your business anymore.

It is like store return ,too many returns ,they will cancel your account or bar you from buying or entering the store !
AMZN prime members who have excessive returns have their membership cancelled.
Casinos have software imaging when they spot trouble makers coming back, they immediately alert the guards to escort these guys out.
PAD charges your bank account 14 days after the order is placed, not when the order is shipped, dont buy from sellers who use dropshipping, serve as consignor or slow in shipping.
