Dishonest eBay seller????

I believe a seller is being dishonest. He wants to send a refund because he noticed a rip on one of the shoes when he went to pack them to ship. In the photos it doesn't appear to be ripped but it's hard to tell for sure. I asked for more photos and he claims his phone doesn't take good photos. When I asked him where the rip was he told me. But again, it's hard to be sure. I then asked him to use the photo from the auction and circle the spot where it's ripped. I haven't heard back yet. I feel he's stalling. I feel he just wants to relist the shoes in order to get more money. I won them for $1.25 plus shipping and he had the BIN price of $8 listed. He can't rip them if they aren't already for a photo for me or he definitely can't resell them and I don't want ripped shoes. But if they aren't ripped I want them! Should I risk it or just get a refund? And if he does relist them as new I will report him!! Thanks!

Thanks again! I did leave feedback then he responded back after two weeks of no response. He said he could mind the rip and relist it for me. Yeah I right! He asked why I left feedback and said because he didn't send the picture and then cancelled. I wasn't trying to get him to sell me item after that. I just wanted proof. Anyway, I asked about the rip again. He said it was big across the top right shoe. But before that he said it was on the side left shoe (or that may be reversed...either way he changed it). He said he was going to report me to eBay for fraud. I don't see how when I didn't do anything wrong. He's just mad because he got caught and I left bad feedback. Only if he could show the rip to eBay!!

Hi amk2004,

He can TRY to report you but, you have the right to leave any feedback you want as long as you have a good reason for it which you absolutely do. eBay will tell him the same thing & eBay can NOT remove the listing as whoever removes the feedback you left, you can call this is & speak to trust & safety and/or a supervisor as you are entitled to leave appropriate feedback on a transaction as long as there is a good reason behind it. Besides that, will there be anything else you need help with or need me to call in for you?? ~AG.

I don't think so. Not unless he starts to harass me or something. I doubt he will try to report and was making a threat so I'll retract my feedback because he knows eBay won't put up with it! All they have to do is ask for proof. If they can get proof of the rip and show me and then ask me to revise the feedback, I will. Otherwise it's staying as is! I'm just disappointed I couldn't give these to my son. Thank you for your time AG!

AG....The seller relisted the shoes as new without a box and did not mention anything about a rip! They are the exact same shoes and pictures he used for the ones that I won! How do I contact eBay about this? And I bet he will say they are a different pair but I highly doubt it!

Calling eBay isnt going to do anything. You can either report him OR if you call eBay then, they will just document it on his account & report him too. The only people who can do something about this will be the internal team at the corporate office of the president for eBay's headquarters. Keep in mind that the system randomly does inspections on every account & if he continues doing what he doing then, it is considered a bad selling behavior & bad selling practices & most likely when the system puts  red flag for that then, the internal will review & investigate & will not want to do business with a seller like that so they will very likely place his account on an indefinite selling restriction. Now, if you want you can call cutsomer service & speak to Trust and Safety department which is open 24/7 & they will document it down for the internal team. Thats the best that YOU & the account specialists can do.

Thank you AG. I did get my refund but I didn't ask for it. I wanted to see how bad the suppose rip was before deciding. But he never would provide the proof. And if He didn't want to sell so low, then why choose that option and risk it? He should have started with an opening bid or reserve price. I've never sold anything so I'm not familiar with all those options. If he wanted a little more he should have been honest and said so. I would have paid a little more. Can you tell me if the seller had even been contacted by eBay to review my complaint? It's just a crappy way to do business!!

reserve costs money, listing is often free, but you add reserve, then there is a fee.

this is the sad state of Ebay, too many sellers, too thin  margin ,low starting bid is good if more bidders bid against each other,if you want it so badly, ask the seller how much he wants for the item and get over it,

There's no point in asking him to accept more money. If there is a rip he wouldn't accept and if he did then why would I pay for ripped shoes if he added the rip to avoid the lie, if that's the case? I'm done! I need no more comments! Thank you!
