where is the currency conversion option?

I just payed for a merchantise, which is listed as $USD. I configured the payment by "AMAZON VISA CANADA".

I setup USD as primary currency and assume that paypal will charge USD against this credit card.

However paypal still charged me as CAD and do the currency conversion for me. I see lots in community that mentioned

there is currency conversion option you can use. But I can not find this "currency conversion option".

Can someone help?

What I want to do is: when I buy usd charged items, I need  paypal to charge USD against my "amazon visa canada"

credit card.

thank you.

There is no need to contact technical support. This change has been done on purpose and it is just a way to make some extra money by Paypal & Ebay before Christmass.

Please note, that on other websites, when you buy through Paypal you still have this option to use your bank's echange rate. It is just kind of Ebay-Paypal criminal agreement.

Tech support deals with the development side of the site.  Did you actually speak with a tech specialist while on the phone?

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I am afraid it is not a technical problem.

I have the same problem. It's not only for eBay purchases.

Whatever conversion option I chose to SEND money(from card) Paypal is still converting it to my local currecny and back to USD even though, I have a USD card. Which add up 4% to the payment - insane. And I have to make a lot of payment this week for $45000, so I would have to pay additional $1800! Waiting for support answer.

Looks like PP wants to lose all clients who need currency conversion. Nobody will pay 9-10%

If this will not be fixed back people will find other ways to pay.

Yes I can confirm its not just for eBay purchases. It is for every payment via paypal, additional 3-4% taken on crazy conversion rates.

This must be a bug because why this option is still existing than (to use paypal conversionn or credit ard/bank conversion rate) .

But its going for 3-4 days now. Anybody got answer from customer support?

Some ppl on Russian forums are saying they got reply it is Ebay related and may be will be fixed by the end of the week but it's hard to beleive. My payment was not related to Ebay at all (direct payment to seller by e-mail). Meanwhile buyers are losing huge money (coincidence, but someone earn them at the same time).

I have the same problem and it has nothing to do with Ebay purchase!!!
I am just trying to send directly money to an email-address and whatever conversion option I chose to SEND money(from card),
Paypal is still converting it to its own exchange rate making me lose money!!!
