If I remove my card before the verification is complete will I get the 1.50 € fee back?

I got a new card and I decided to link it to my PayPal account. I followed the instructions and everything was fine: I was told that I would receive a verification code. After a few days I went to the bank to get a bank statement. The money was indeed taken but there was no code. My question now is: if I remove the card will I get the verification fee back or will the money be gone forever?

Contact customer services and ask them to re-send the code.
