Email notification on receipt of donation?

Hello, 

We'd like to have our email notifications only for received donations so that we can reply with a thank-you. Is it possible to filter notifications by payment type, or do we have to sort through them on our end after simply receiving a notification for every payment?

Normally email notifications are only sent when you receive funds - meaning someone made a donation or sent you money or purchased an item.   As for sorting the emails by payment type - that info is not directly shared via the emails.   However, one work around is to use PayPal's IPN feature as you can request specific info such as  "payment_type".
