Difficulty adding new bank account

I have recently added a new bank account for payments. I entered the deposits made by PayPal to confirm the new account, yet I continue to get an error "Paypal internal error. Try again later." Anyone else had this problem? I've tried for days now with no success. Any advice would be appreciated.
p.s. Dear Paypal, it would be nice if there was an 800 number to call and speak with someone to rectify these situations.
