If you log in to http://www.paypal.com and log in, you should be able to see if there are steps to complete to confirm your email address in order to receive any payments that are waiting.
Please be cautious with the email, as fraudsters may try to trick you into sharing information by sending you an email that appears to be from PayPal. Please see this page for tips to help discern whether or not the email is legitimate.
