I want to purchase an item from a private seller, no website is involved. Will I be protected with the PayPal Purchase Protection when doing business with a private seller?

To answer that I would have to spend 30 minutes typing up all the criteria of buyer protection.

So your best bet is to go to the user agreement and read up on it yourself so you can risk assess your transactions.
