Earlier this month I got an email saying a claim was opened by a buyer on EBay. I found it to be an unauthorized payment claim opened by his financial institution. The item was sold in March 2017 and has original tracking on the transaction.
I contacted PayPal and they said they'll be working with the buyer's financial institution and it can take up to 80 days to resolve.
How long does it usually take these claims to be resolved? Could this be fraud? What are the chances of the claim being dismissed and me getting the amount back that PayPal took off of my account? Am I covered by seller protection seeing the original transaction was 11 months old from the date the claim was opened?
