On trying to login to my account I receive the following message:
PayPal is looking out for you
We noticed some unusual activity and need help securing your account.
Change Password
There are no other option on the page e.g. explaining why you were taken to the page or what was the unusual activity and I did not receive any email notification from Paypal prompting me to change my password.
Is this a genuine Paypal message?

So that's coming up when you go directly to www.paypal.com and try to log in? If so I would follow the procedure.
This sort of thing can happen if PayPal sees somebody signing in to your account from random IP addresses in other countries, for example. They are trying to protect you from a potential phished account.
