No update on claim

I was dealing with a garbage phone from Gearbest that lasted a week (never do that again). They wanted me to pay for shipping it back and only be refunded the cost of the product minus shipping, plus refund to my gearbest account. I filed a claim through paypal for the total amount. I still had to pay for shipping back, but claim was for full amount I paid. I sent it back, gave Paypal the tracking info, and it is now delivered back to Gearbest. The claim states I will be contacted by April 10 concerning the claim, but nothing has updated. Whats happening here?
