No refund because a discount was used?

Hi!

I had purchased several items from asos.com and had used a discount. It was one of those spend X amount and get $70 off. I didn't like a couple of items so I sent them in for a return. Now the company is saying since I no longer spent enough on the order, they're taking off the $70 discount and since the items I return are only $45, they're not issuing me any refund. They aren't going to send me back the items I tried to return but they're not giving me back any money either. Is this legal? Can I file a claim for this?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

You have to check the terms of the discount.  It is not unheard of that if you return something the discount is undone.

Haha! Good point. Just take this as a lesson learned, I guess.
