Seller is likely trying to avoid eBay fees.
You would lose all eBay protection.
You are buying from an eBay seller, just make the purchase directly and avoid potential problems.

They can't get at your info personal financial info from just an email address, otherwise we won't be using email addresses as user id. You can give seller any email address that you have access to, to receive the invoice. When you pay though, you log on with your real PayPal email address.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
