Fraudulent Chargeback of Gifts

An acquaintance outside the U.S. sent me several gifts of money over several months.  Our friendship turned sour and he lodged chargebacks on these three gifts.  My PayPal balance is in the negative because of these claims.  I never sold anything so there are no receipts or shipping documents.   How do I make these chargeback claims go away?   There are no appropriate replies in the Response option for Dispute Settlements.
