Fraud! Refund allowed after 2 months of purchase!

Hi all I'm in desperate need of some advice to resolve a issue i'm having at the moment..... I basically sold a mobile phone to a person privately back in January of this year. The person sent me the money through my PayPal account as normal and I sent the phone to them so all was normal... or so I thought!

I then get a refund request for this money by this person on the 6th March but no other explanation as to why? But to my utter shock Paypal has issued the refund back to the person so i'm out of pocket for the money for the phone and have no phone either. I've tried to contact the person but i'm getting no reply and Paypal will not help me either, so I need to know how I can go about this and get my money back?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated guys...... please help me!

Thanks Tony

@Choatie

You have left out some details.

How did you accept the payment, what option was used to send you the money.

Did they open a paypal dispute and if so for what option.

Did they do a chargeback via their card issuer.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
