Airline took money off card but cancelled ticket

Air France took money off my card for my daughter's ticket booking, and it is clear from my Paypal account and the credit card company records that they claimed the funds. Howeever, they are saying they did not get the money and cancelled the ticket! It was a huge amount as it is for a long haul flight.
I filed a claim and it is escalated but I am wondering when Paypal will reply?

where are you?
who is your credit card issuer,?
how did you place the order with Air France?
Have you tried calling AIR FRance or the company where you bought the ticket from?
