My Galaxy Note 5 just got into the PPH device.
It says Sofyware uptodate MPI Version 0.7.6.M.1.41
OS version M000-OS-7-6
I will check my Galaxy S4 now and ipad 3 now too.

Mine shows the sam OS version; that means your reader is up to date.
When did you get the reader and when did it last upate the software?
I know there had been some issues with bluetooth connectivity but the last update was supposed help fix that.
My Samsung table has Android 6.0.1. It does upgrade when necessary.
My LG smartphone is stuck on its original Android version; the hardware doesn't permit upgrades. I have 5.1.1 but I don't use PayPal Here on the phone because I the tablet and it's much better display.
If your your Android version were not adequate then PayPal Here shouldn't work at all.
How close is the blue tooth device to the phone or tablet?
It's probably best to phone PayPal for help and make sure you talk to a PayPal Here specialist.

Yes I guess I should talk with someone. I am in Sydney Oz though.
I wanted to use the tablet too because of the larger screen etc., so a little peeved it doesn't upgrade from 4.4.2.
Okay just spoke to them and they said that if it cobbected a nd works with 1 device then the prob is not with the Reader.
It works with Samsung Note 5 os 7.1 but not with the Galaxy S4 (Android 5.0.1) and says no update available.
She did say as far as she knows it should work with the Android KitKat 4.4.2 and the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Suggest I try their support .
So.. Here I am still in the same predicament.
I would go buy another cheap Android tab if I knew it would definatley work, but don't know.

It might have something to do with the bluetooth hardware of an older device. Just guessing now.

Yes you could be right.
I am onto the forums for Android and the Galaxy to see what they say.
Thanks.

I have tried everything to get this going without it dropping the bluetooth connection.
I have tried it with a Galaxy S4, Galxy Note 5, Android 4.4 and it seems everything works except the bluetooth keeps disconnecting at random times and one has to go thru loops to get it back on again.
I have now given up and feel that I have been ripped off.
Please PayPal if you're going to sell something, make sure it works first.
I now have both white and black devices sitting in a drawer.
Do you have anyone working on this to improve it?

My card reader was not working.
When I removed my cell phone case it snped in completely and started working.
I tried an extension jumper and the reader wouldn't work with that; it only works when pluged in directly, so I can't use my cell phone case.
Paypal should make the shaft of the card reader a bit longer so it will work with cell phone cases.
Also for a strange reason when I answer incoming calls with the card reader attached I can't hear the person speaking, so I have to remove the card reader to answer a call.
Note paypal charges more when the card reader is not used.

if using an extension, make sure ist stereo not mono, and plug the reader in the extention before plugging into the phone. It works fine with my lifebox phone this way.

Made a thread that only has one post. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on with the Paypal debit cards:
For some reason, since the PayPal Prepaid Debit site has changed, I haven't been able to complete the instant transfers. I've called Paypal multiple times with no resolution, the agents told me my account was in good standing and to simply try again. Tried 5 hours apart today and still no luck. I continuously get the the following:
"Unable to perform the PayPal Instant Transfer.
If you continue to have problems, please contact customer service."
Anyone else having this issue?
