I'm beyond frustrated with PayPal and the PayPal Extras MasterCard.
Here's an abbridged version of my experience:
Taken together, PayPal (and the folks at Synchrony Bank, issuer of the "PayPal Extras MasterCard") have succeeded in adding unnecessary frustration to my life and wasting my time - offering me a credit product that is frankly USELESS and does not work as advertised. At this point I'm ready to shred the card, delete the newly-created PayPal account and move on with my life.
I'm posting this here as a cautionary tale for those who are considering accepting this offer who (like myself) may have more than one PayPal account and/or "credit product" in the hopes it might prevent someone else from wasting their time. I'm also posting this here in the hopes that someone from PayPal or Synchrony Bank (who cares about customers in the slightest) will take notice and realize how frustrating (and misleading) this product/service is.
For all the time, effort, and attention PayPal puts into making their web site look simple, friendly, and easy to use - their credit products have consistently proven themselves overly complicated and frustrating to use. Every other financial institution I've worked with does a much better job of handling customers with multiple credit products/accounts; I wish PayPal would either step-up their game or step away from offering integrated "credit products" they're either unable (or unwilling) to FULLY support in-house.
You're absolutely right - I have not used the card (nor will I use it) if I cannot manage the account online. As I mentioned in my post, at this point I'm ready to shred the card, forget about it, and move on with my life. I have plenty of other cards available to me; the only reason I was interested in the card was because it claimed to integrated with PayPal.
I suppose my post (rant) was aimed at conveying my disappointment about the fact PayPal (and Synchrony Bank) wasted my time by offering something they could not actually deliver.
Your rant was of such low value I didn't even take the time to read it, but I could assume you were unhappy and the obvious solution was to move on to another card.
Personally, I would never attempt to get a credit or a debit card from PayPal. I much prefer dealing directly with well known banks for credit cards. I don't know why so many people put up with the hassle of PayPal cards and their low service.
So "PayPal Buyer Credit" is a credit card originally which became PayPal Extras MC? Or was it originally "Bill Me Later" then it was changed to "PayPal Buyer Credit", and changed again to "PayPal Credit"?
Sounds like PayPal sent you an ad for something related to a closed PayPal account and got you roped into it because PayPal's hand didn't know what PayPal's foot was doing, so whatever they were advertising no longer apply as you no longer have the account. You said so yourself that your PayPal Buyer Credit account was linked to a closed account. PayPal shouldn't send out ads relating to closed accounts.
Same issue exactly. I even used my regular PayPal for a purchase online. When I returned to the store, they used my PayPal MasterCard, so I had a credit on a card I had never used. It has been since April with calls to PayPal MasterCard and I finally gave up and requested from the automated on,one service that they mail me a check. Which they did very quickly, I am cancelling my PayPal MasterCard. It is a separate card as far as I am concerned, with no way for me to even see online. I did use it again and now have to try to figure out how to pay it. My guess is I will again be calling JAVIER at PayPal MasterCard and request they mail me a copy of the statement so I can send them a paper check. That is all they will be getting from me. I want the paper trail.
Cocktail hour is approaching fast,I need a drink !
There is a 7.4 earthquake near NEW ZEALAND,just think what happens if an earthquake covers the entire planet,we will never have to pay our bills !
The card should be listed in the Wallet page, right? I don't have PayPal Extras card and that is where I thought it would be located and to see your Bill/statement. I just have the PayPal Debit card. Oh jeeps, have to go for a walk now. lol
Can anyone tell me their number? not the voicemail one.
I want to talk to a real representative. I didn't get to receive my card to the address I provide. I want to change it but I couldn't get a hold of anyone other than the voicemail.
