Can I use paypal prepaid card without activating it?

My grandparents got me a paypal prepaid card with 100 dollars already loaded in. Little did they know that you are apparently supposed to sign up and physcially wait for some sort of card to arrive. Is there any way I can simply use this card to purchase something online or just to load in the money into my paypal account? They bought the card at gas station. I really dont want to open an account with a 5 dollar per month plan man.. Just want to use the balance in the account and throw this card away after.

to move the money to your paypal ACCOUnt,you have to apply for a permanent card with your name and ss and address .

so no matter what I do I will have to end up paying 5 dollars? And will I have to wait for another card to get here in order to use it?

I think your grandparents have already paid that 4.95 fee when they purchased it,go to the site and find out.
