Keeping money in paypal

I am not new to PayPAl just not very familar.

Can I keep money in my paypal account and not have to use my bank account to tranfer; in other words I want to keep a balance without having to withdraw it, am I allowed to maintain a balance ,if so how long without penalties can I do this?

Funds can stay in your account balance as long as you wish, there's no conditions.

You can keep the money in your paypal if you like, but I think sometimes paypal  limits some accounts of how much you can have as a security measure

I would keep a daily eye on it though if you have a large amount

I was wondering because I bid on auctions and need funds on hand to pay shipping with and I am getting transfer fees from my bank with so me.

Also you never have to have money in your paypal balance to bid/buy things as paypal will take the money straight from you back up source

There's no need to transfer money in to your paypal unless you want to
