Chip Card Reader - Several Problems

I have had numerous problems with the Paypal Chip Card Reader ever since purchasing it.

The card reader never works without some sort of intervention by me - usually resulting in my customer growing impatient and leaving my shop.

1.  IF the card reader is powered on, I usually need to go to my device (iPad Air) and force it to "Forget" the chip reader and re-connect the bluetooth connection.  This takes several minutes.

2.  Many times, the card reader's battery is drained (even without use) after just a day or two of not being conected to the charger.
Because of this - I have to connect to the charger and wait approx 10 minutes or so for the device to be charged enough to re-connect to the iPad.  Of course - this takes to long for my customer to wait and they leave.

3.  Because of the battery issue - I started keeping the reader connected to the charger at all times.  This seems to cause the device to freeze and a reset is needed to get it working again - then I have to go through step 1 above.

Every single time I go to use the card reader, one or more of the above situations happen.
As a temporary fix, I have made it a morning ritual to remove the device from the charger, do a reset, have my ipad forget the device and then re-connct to it.
This ritual takes about 15 minutes of every morning of my day.  That does not seem like much, but it adds up and takes me away from other duties.

Another residual problem is that, because of the constant problems with the chip card reader, I have to use a different method to take payment.  If the customer's card does not have a chip, I just swip on the old reader that connects to the headphone jack (never had major problems with that) - or I have to use Virtual Terminal on my computer.
Both of these methods caused me to lose my $100 rebate because my sales do not register with the faulty reader.

Is there any plans on a new device that can be docked or still be connected via the headphone jack or lightning cable?
Bluetooth is nice when needed, but there are many shops like mine that really do not need the mobility of the bluetooth function and would just like a solid & dependable "set it and forget it" type of connection.

Thank you for any advice!

You'll need to contact PayPal customer service and talk to a specialist for PayPal Here; they do have very good support for those issues.

Make sure you have all the updates installed on the device.

There are no connecting issues, but your problems seem to be more serious.  I can have mine on for 6 or more hourse of use generally, without charging.  If the power gets down to 30%, however, it seeems to drain very quickly or just not work.  I know know to charge at 30% when I'm using it.

The reconnecting seems to work best when the app is opened just as the reader is ready.  I have an Android Samsung tablet.  I also have a Woosim bluetooth printer.

Does the display on the reader show any messasges?

When on battery I've seen where the reader doesn't go into sleep mode and then discharges more rapidly.

You coud try uninstalling the app on your iPad and then reinstally.

Anyway, a call to PayPal Here tech support is your best option.
