paypal sends withdrawl request to wrong bank account number

This wont sound right when I put it in words, but this is the problem. I paid with paypal and when paypal sent it to my bank for payment , they left off the last number of the account number. The bank then generated a automated response that the account was closed since it couldn't find that account . Now I hav a negative balance at paypal , I tried to call and couldn't get through as lines were busy. I sent a message and its been over 24 hours which the reply message was paypal will respond within 24 hours .
AS it is the paypal account is showing a negative balance, I am supposed to transfer money to handle the negative balance, but when paypal got the automated response of the closed account paypal removed my bank I had linked to the paypal account. How do I communicate with paypal to resolve an issue they created by using the wrong bank account number ?
