paid invoice not through invoiced activity

Hi,

So I bought something.  I was invoiced through PayPal but I didn't realise that.

I just paid via their supplied email address as previously done.

So the seller received the payment, confirmed everything is fine there.

But in my PayPal activity section, the invoice said Pay Now | Cancel

Should I just cancel it?

Well, double paying isn't a good idea, so cancelling would be a good idea unless you can get the seller to refund the first payment.

no I've only paid him once.  I was just wondering if it was OK for me to just cancel the invoice in the activity statement without any dire consequences 🙂

No problem cancelling the invoice.

Does your direct payment, however, contain sufficient details about the product and shipping to provide buyer protection in case of an issue?  Invoices would typically have a lot more information about the transaction.

I've cancelled the invoice and informed the seller.  He's OK with that and have already mailed out my purchase.

You can ask the merchant to mark the invoice as paid on their end.
