Will not allow customer to pay invoice

Sent invoice to customer, when he tried to pay he received this message " The invoice states that the payment is due yesterday, the 20th.  When I hit the proceed to payment buttlon the transaction gets cancelled"

I change payment due date to "No Due Date" and resent the invoice.  He ties to pay and again his transaction is canceled with this message. "this transaction is invalid.  Please return to the recipient's website to complete your transaction using the regular checkout flow".
