Im using the donate button but I'm wondering what the customer receives as a receipt. Is there a way to customize this? Also, I have it set at $25, but can someone choose to make that a double donation if wanted? Or would they have to make it separate donations?
PayPal generates a receipt for the donor. There is no way to customize it, I'm afraid.
In your PayPal button generator, you can edit the donation button settings to have different options. Check this page for info on how to let donors enter the amount they want to donate:
If you are not using the donate button but a buy now button made to look like a donate button, the button settings would be different from the donate button and will not let your donors enter an amount. You will have to add pre-defined amounts that donors can select from a drop down menu.
