In an ideal situation, both accounts are US PayPal Accounts and both the sender's and receiver's account are "verified" and neither account has any open disputes and/or claims and no other current issues, then you would receive the money almost right away. If there's an issue with either account or your account is "verified", PayPal can hold your funds up to 21 days.
